So last weekend Nic and I went over to our neighbouring channel island Herm with a group of friends. Herm is a 20 minute boat trip from Guernsey. It is a beautiful small island without any cars and few houses. We stayed in wooden log cabins for 3 nights. I thought I would share with you some photos from our stay.
Goodbye Guernsey!
Something I love about Herm is that all the sign posts are all still wooden.
The only methods of transport on the island are quad bikes and tractors. The island is so small cars are not necessary.
The main place to eat on Herm is the Mermaid Tavern, a courtyard to sit out in the summer and a bar for when the cooler weather comes around.
The little gift shop sells these cute scarecrows.
Beautiful Berries scattered through the hedges.
Herm has some amazing beaches however the sea is always freezing cold!
The sand is so golden.
In the summer there is the opportunity to hire kayaks off the beach, a great activity for a summers day.
Lovely wild flowers.
A mushroom carved out of a tree stump.
A couple of chickens we met whilst on a walk.
The evening skies were beautiful.
I love this photo.
Time to go home!
Have you ever visited Herm?
